Yummy Broccoli Salad

Broccoli Salad

In a 2 quart bowl, whisk together
1 cup mayo, (I use Miracle Whip Fat Free)
2 Tablespoons (up to 1/4 cup) sugar
2 T vinegar (red wine or fig-infused are my preferences)

Peel and chop up 1 bunch (usually 3 stalks) broccoli into small bite-size pieces, cutting peeled stems into water chestnut-like disks. Add to dressing and toss.
Also add:
2/3 -1 cup raisins, cranberries or dried cherries (or combo)
1/2 cup red onion, chopped
10 strips of crisp bacon, crumbled (optional)

Toss ingredients with 1 cup sunflower seeds or 1/4 cup slivered, toasted almonds.
